True peace and happiness come from within. Joshua’s journey thus far has led him to believe that we waste what little time we have on this earth with the notion that happiness exists outside of us.
That it will come from wealth, material items, or even God. We spend our lives worshiping the idea of these things and chasing them to no end, until eventually this life we’ve been granted is spent and we haven’t actually lived it. The figure at the bottom is a representation of what he chooses not to let himself become. Instead of looking outward when we are unhappy, this piece is a reminder to look in the mirror.
